Joseph Loccisano, R.A., AIA,
is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1987. Upon graduation, he spent the next 12 years working for several respected New York City firms accruing a wealth of knowledge in all phases of residential, commercial and industrial design. Joe has been a registered architect since 1995 and is licensed to practice architecture in both New York and New Jersey.
In 1999 Joe started his own company and opened an office in Annadale with his long-time friend and partner, Mike Sanna. “Architecture is primarily about solving problems, and doing so creatively through the built environment.” This philosophy has enabled Sanna & Loccisano Architects, PC to complete many successful projects throughout the five Boroughs and New Jersey including the Heart and Lung Center at Staten Island University Hospital, a learning center for autistic children, several restaurants throughout the boroughs, private medical facilities, warehouses, industrial buildings, custom residential homes, multifamily developments, daycare centers, as well as a variety of residential and commercial alterations.
Joe’s passion and respect for the architectural profession and his commitment to provide the best quality service for his clients led him to join the American Institute of Architects Staten Island Chapter where he’s been an active member for more than 20 years. He served on the Technical Affairs Committee and was Chairperson of the Energy Code Committee before joining the Chapter’s Executive Committee where he served as Vice President from 2016 to 2017 and President from 2018 to 2019. Currently, Joe continues to serve his Chapter as their representative to the Architects Council of New York.
