Eugene Flotteron is a Principal and the Director of Architecture at CetraRuddy, an award-winning global architecture and interior design firm founded on the principle that architecture should engage the urban fabric while enriching the human spirit. Eugene’s experience ranges from new construction to renovation/adaptive reuse projects with a particular focus on multi-family housing. His excellent design skills are coupled with technical knowledge and hands-on construction expertise. Eugene has a sophisticated knowledge of zoning, site conditions and building statutes that results in solving complex zoning and design challenges through direct collaboration with clients and colleagues. He masterfully balances visionary architecture and planning while integrating the seminal details his projects.
Eugene holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects Staten Island Chapter where he oversees the Emerging Professionals Committee, as well as the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, Urban Land Institute and Municipal Arts Society.
A Staten Island resident, Eugene is enthusiastic about the Staten Island community and the future of the island. In 2019, he will serve on the advisory committee for the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation’s first ever Healthy Housing summit, a forum to discuss a range of housing strategies within the island to encourage smart and sustainable community growth. Additionally, Eugene will present an overview of his “Vision for Staten Island,” a significant white paper that discusses sustainable growth strategies for the island, at the annual American Institute of Architects National Conference in Las Vegas in June.
